We already know improvements that will arrive with Windows 10 21H2: we will have support for using external cameras and Windows Hello

Until recently, the Windows 10 update that was to arrive at the end of the year was highly anticipated: it was Windows 10 in the 21H2 branch or what until recently was the same, Windows 10 Sun Valley . Then Windows 11 arrived, taking over many of the improvements that we sensed for Sun Valley, although this does not mean that Microsoft has put aside Windows 10, a version that will arrive also with improvements.

It is inevitable that with support for Windows 10 ending in 2025, Microsoft will focus its efforts on Windows 11. However, since there are many users who will not be able to make the leap to the new operating system, Windows 10 will continue to receive improvements.

Improvements… but not too many

Microsoft will continue to make changes to Windows 10 until it is discontinued in 2025, but the changes and additions that come with new feature updates will not be as powerful as they once were before.

In this sense, one of the improvements that is expected to arrive with Windows 10 21H2 are the new controls for Windows Hello and the compatibility with multiple camerasWindows Hello in the case of counting both external and integrated Windows Hello compatible.

With Windows 10 21H2 an external camera compatible with Windows Hello can be used, even when the laptop is closed or docked, something that confirmed in a supporting document. Ideal for those who use a laptop connected to an external display.

Another improvement that we will see arrive affects TPM, which will be compatible with Intel Tiger Lake platforms or newer In addition and already focused on enterprise market, Microsoft will provide on-demand features and language packs through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

Finally, Microsoft is working on improvements to Universal Print and adding new features to Windows Autopilot.

The truth is that we were used to two updates a year, one of them being lighter. This year we expected a second powerful update, after seeing how Windows 10 May 2021 Update seemed almost like a server pack, but the arrival of Windows 11 has disrupted the plans and it seems that users who cannot make the leap to Windows 11 will not have to conform with small breadcrumbs as compensation.
