Microsoft launches Build 20215: now the dark mode interface also integrates searches and their results

Microsoft has announced the arrival of a new Build, in this case build 20215, to the Dev Channel within the Insider Program. A compilation that comes a week after the release of Build 20211 and that shows how Microsoft continues to step on the accelerator to improve the updates that are to come.

• For all those users who have activated the dark theme in the device settings, the integration of search results has been improved with dark theme on the taskbar.

• This change is coming server-side and is rolling out to all Insider Program members on the Dev Channel. This change will make it easier to transition between Start and search results now that both support dark theme.

Developer Updates

• The Windows SDK continues to grow at the same pace as the evolutions in the Dev Channel. Whenever a new OS build goes through the development channel, the corresponding SDK will also be released.

Other improvements

• Fixed an issue that could cause the Windows Security application to crash.
• Fixed an issue that could cause the Windows Security app to crash when navigating to the Exclusions page when there were a lot of exclusions.
• Fixed an issue where using a restore point that was created before a Microsoft Edge update to perform a system restore could cause Microsoft Edge to fail to start after the restore is complete.

• Fixed an issue that caused the text cursor to move unexpectedly to the beginning of a text field when typing with the Korean IME in certain applications.
• Fixes an issue affecting the reliability of voice typing.
• Fixed an issue where, on a small subset of devices, the Start menu did not reflect when an update was pending restartand canceling scheduled reboots.

Known Issues

• Reports of the update process hanging for extended periods when trying to install a new version are being investigated.
• Working on a fix to enable live preview of pinned site tabs.

• We are working on enabling the new taskbar experience for existing pinned sites. In the meantime, you can unpin the site from the taskbar, remove it from the apps page edge:// and then re-pin the site.

• Investigate reports of crashes of some Office applications after upgrading to a new build.

• Studying reports that Settings app crashes when opening Manage disks and volumes.
• Investigating a fix for the Linux kernel not being installed when using the wsl –install command on the Windows Subsystem for Linux. For an immediate workaround, run wsl –update to get the latest kernel version.

• Investigating reports of some devices experiencing a KMODE_EXCEPTION bugcheck when using certain virtualization technologies.
