Microsoft releases Build 19645 to continue adding improvements that we will see in future versions of Windows
Table of contents:
Microsoft continues to work in various ways. On the one hand, and in the short term, it strives to correct the bugs in the current version of Windows (Windows 10 May 2020 Update) and thus we have seen how it has released a cumulative update with a good number of bugs fixed. But at the same time, it already prepares the ground for the fall update with new Builds in the Insider Program in the same way that also offers builds already directed to the 21H1 branch
It will be the fall update for 2020 and the one for spring next year and if a few days ago I released Build 19640 , now it does the same with Build 19645, a compilation announced by the company that can already be downloaded and that comes with different improvements for the audio control of the Your Phone application or the optimization of audio synchronization between the mobile and the pc.
Improvements in this Build
- The audio controls of Your phone are now available to all users so that it is now possible to control music and audio of our phone from the Your Phone application. All the audio will be synchronized from the mobile to the PC and we will be able to switch between the different audio sources that we have available.
Improvements and fixes
- Service model for Linux kernel is changed within the Windows subsystem for Linux 2 distributions. In this Build, changing the Linux kernel from the Windows image must be done via Windows Update, such as graphics, or touchpad drivers.
- Added support for nested virtualization on AMD processors. Being a development, they recommend reading this blog post for details on which platforms currently work and how to enable the feature.
More corrections
- Fixed an issue where some devices booting from eMMC storage might experience a green screen .
- Fixes various Japanese and Chinese IME issues that affected IME mode switching within applications and the Windows notification area.
- Fixed an issue that caused the taskbar preview thumbnails to not display consistently (showing a blank area).
- Fixed a bug that caused the handwriting input panel to not appear in certain text fields after tapping on it with a pencil.
- Fix a bug where resizing an app fitted in tablet mode would minimize the app to the taskbar on instead of adjusting the application size.
- Fixes an issue where Windows Hello Setup would crash if facial recognition was already set up and you chose the Enhance Recognition button.
- Fix an issue for some users where their PC would not recognize it when they inserted a smart card (event log shows error 621).
Known Bugs
- Microsoft is investigating why Build installation can take too long.
- The Private Documents and Downloads icons are not displayed correctly and a rectangle appears instead.
If you belong to the Fast Ring within the Insider Program, you can download the update by going to the usual path, that is, Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update ."
