Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 19628: support for DNS over HTTPS arrives

May 28 is the day scheduled, if there are no changes, for Microsoft to release the new update for Windows 10 A spring update that they have been cooking for many months thanks to the different compilations that have been released within the Insider Program.

And following a roadmap that is nearing its end, the company has announced the release of a new compilation. This is Build 19628 that is now available to Insiders as they are part of the Fast Ring. A Build that stands out above all for include initial support for DNS over HTTPS

Changes and improvements

Add initial support for DNS over HTTPS so that encryption can be turned on when Windows performs DNS queries. Although this option is disabled by default, you can enable it by following these steps.

This system is a security protocol whose objective is to make browsing more private and make it difficult for the operator that provides services to know the pages we visit as well as, incidentally, improve security when browsing.

Corrections

Known Issues

• Continuing issues with Narrator and NVDA Looking for the latest Chromium-based version of Microsoft Edge may experience some difficulties browsing and reading certain web content. The Narrator, NVDA, and Edge teams are aware of these issues. Older Microsoft Edge users will not be affected. NVAccess has released the NVDA 2019.3 patch that resolves the known issue with Edge.
• Try to find reports of the update process hanging for long periods of time when trying to install a new build.
• The icons for Private Documents and Downloads are not properly rendered and you can see a rectangle instead of what you should.

• Continued issues that cause IIS settings to be set to default after taking a new build. You should backup your IIS configuration and restore it after the new build has been successfully installed.
• Continued crashes with taskbar preview thumbnails are not displayed consistently, showing a blank area .
