They propose two new solutions to end the problems in the profiles caused by the KB4532693 patch
Table of contents:
A few days ago we heard about a problem that was affecting users who had installed the KB4532693 patch released by Microsoft for Windows 10 on their computers. In the forums, people who were affected appeared with an unpleasant problem : personal files that were on the desktop were disappearing as well as problems with profiles that even required creating a new profile"
Although at first, Microsoft did not acknowledge the existence of the bug, the complaints of those affected meant that finally the American company had nothing more to admit that yes, there was a problem (despite which is not reflected on the patch download page) and that they are actually working on a solution to this.Until then, there were only alternative methods proposed by those affected
Yet another solution
And while Microsoft releases a patch to fix this bug, we've learned another solution that could help restore the user's profile. The proposal appears in the user community by a moderator.
In it, it states that Microsoft is aware that some customers are experiencing problems with their profile after installing patch KB4532693 in versions 1903 and 1909 of Windows 10. For these cases set two tips:
- Restarting in safe mode and then starting again in normal mode should resolve this issue for most customers.
- Uninstall any secure banking or antivirus software in the temporary profile which may resolve this if the above steps don't help.
These options remain temporary in the absence of a definitive solution through an update that will be released in the coming days and in the absence of at Microsoft to officially acknowledge the problem. It also adds to the possible solutions that had been proposed up to now.
The first was to restart Windows several times (some users have had to do it up to 4 times), in a process that can solve the failure or if necessary, create a new user profile and manually transfer the data from the new to the old one and then delete it and thus return to the original situation. Two previous solutions to the possibility of uninstalling the update that causes problems.
