Microsoft releases fix patch
After appearing the error and seeing how Microsoft confirmed its existence, we already have with us a patch that solves the problem. An update coming for everyone affected and not just for those with an ESU subscription as initially speculated.
The fix is coming for all computers running Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 in the form of patch KB4539602 that can be download now from the Microsoft support page. An update that comes only to correct the problems with the wallpaper, something that is explained on the official website:
And on the same support page they advise what are the requirements that our team must meet before installing said update. In this sense, we must have the following updates installed:
- Have the SHA-2 update (KB4474419) dated September 23, 2019 or a later SHA-2 update installed, and then restart your device before applying this update. If you use Windows Update, you will automatically be offered the latest SHA-2 update. For more information about SHA-2 updates, see the 2019 SHA-2 Code Signing Support Requirement for Windows and WSUS.
- You must have the Servicing Stack Update (SSU) (KB4490628) dated March 12, 2019 or a later SSU update installed. For more information on the latest SSU updates, see ADV990001 | Latest servicing stack updates.
To apply the changes, it is necessary that after you install these updates and before you apply any monthly rollups, security-only update , Monthly Rollup Preview, or Standalone Update, the computer is restarted.
