Microsoft releases Build 19559 within the Fast Ring in the Insider Program to prepare for the release of the 20H1 branch

In the middle of the week and it's time to talk about changes in Windows thanks to a new Build that Microsoft releases for its operating system within the Fast Ring in the Insider Program. This is Build 19559, an update to polish improvements and fix bugs before the 20H1 branch becomes a reality.

Build 19559 comes mainly with corrections in the operation, solving problems present in previous updates. Announced on the Twitter channel of the Insider Program, now we will see what are the improvements that this Build is going to bring.

Improvements and fixes

  • This Build fixes an issue with the IME area for East Asian IMEs (Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, and Japanese IME) which were sometimes not opening in recent builds.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause explorer.exe to crash when unbacking up folders containing . heic or RAW.
  • Fixes a bug that could cause explorer.exe to fail when deleting large .tif files.
  • Fix a bug that causes the top pixels of a window to be clipped when using WIN+Up and then snapping the window to the side using WIN+Left/Right).
  • Fixes an issue that caused Event Viewer to crash when selecting certain events recently.
  • For Insiders using a device with arm64, such as the Surface Pro X, running the Enterprise or Pro edition Windows, they will now be able to see and install Hyper-V features.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some Insiders to experience a green screen on recent builds with the error KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED.

Known Bugs

  • BattlEye and Microsoft have encountered incompatibility issues due to operating system changes between some Insider Preview builds and certain versions of the software BattlEye anti-cheat. To protect Insiders who might have these builds installed on their PC, we've placed a support hold on these devices so they won't be offered affected builds of Windows Insider Preview.See this article for details.
  • We are aware that Narrator and NVDA users looking for the latest Chromium-based version of Microsoft Edge may experience some difficulties when browse and read certain web content. The Narrator, NVDA, and Edge teams are aware of these issues. Older Microsoft Edge users will not be affected. NVAccess has released a beta version of NVDA that resolves the known issue with Edge.   • We are looking for reports that the update process hangs for long periods of time when trying to install a new build.
  • We are investigating reports that some Insiders are unable to update to newer versions with the error 0x8007042b.
  • We are reviewing reports that some Insiders are unable to update to newer versions with error 0xc1900101.
  • East Asian IMEs (Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Korean, and Japanese IMEs) may be missing from the language/keyboard switcher (eg open with Windows key + Space key) after upgrading from 20H1 Build 19041 or earlier to Windows 10 Insider Preview build (19536 or later) if you have multiple languages/keyboards added. We are investigating the issue. In the meantime, remove and re-add the missing keyboards in the keyboard switcher by going to Settings> Time & Language> Language> Preferred languages. Doesn't happen if you upgraded from build19536 or later.
  • The Documents in Privacy section has a broken icon (just a rectangle).
  • We are investigating reports that certain devices are no longer idle.We have identified the root cause and are working on a solution for an upcoming flight. If your device is affected, putting it to sleep manually should work (Start> Power button> Sleep).
