Known Issues
- BattlEye and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues due to operating system changes between some Insider Preview builds and certain versions of the software BattlEye anti-cheat. To protect Insiders who might have these builds installed on their PC, we've placed a compatibility hold on these devices so they won't be offered affected builds of Windows Insider Preview.
- Please be aware of the issue affecting Narrator and NVDA users using the latest version of Chromium-based Microsoft Edge can experience any difficulty browsing and reading certain web content. Legacy Microsoft Edge users will not be affected.
- Reports are being investigated that the upgrade process hangs for long periods of time when trying to install a new build.
- Investigating reports that some Insiders are unable to upgrade to newer builds with error 0x8007042b.
- Reviewing reports that some Insiders are unable to upgrade to newer builds with error 0xc1900101.
- The Privacy Documents section has a broken icon.
- Sometimes the iME candidate window for East Asian IMEs (Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, and Japanese IME) may not open. They are investigating reports. As a workaround if you run into this, change the focus to another app or editing area and go back to the original and try again. Alternatively, you can go to Task Manager and end the “TextInputHost.exe” task from the Details tab, and it should work afterwards.
- They are investigating reports of certain devices not going into hibernation. They have identified the root cause and are working on a fix for a future update. If your device is affected, manual wakeup should work (Home > Power button > Sleep).
If you belong to the Fast Ring within the Insider Program, you can download the update by going to the usual route, that is, Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update An update that paves the way for an update that is still almost a year away."
