Could Windows 10X be the seed of a new operating system for both foldable screens and traditional computers?
Table of contents:
At the Microsoft Event we witnessed the arrival of Windows 10X, the Microsoft operating system for dual-screen devices from which The Surface Neo, the Surface Duo and the new devices of this type launched by Microsoft would benefit at the time of their release to the market.
That would be just the beginning and it is that Windows 10X could be much more, since before we would be the basis of a new operating system units that could be used both for new dual-screen devices and for traditional product types, such as tablets or PC's.
Is Windows 10X just the beginning?
Windows 10X still hides many secrets to reveal. It uses a shell that can be adapted to different types of screens and that we already saw at the time, which has the code name Santorini. A shell that can be adapted in different form factors to be able to be applied to different types of screens.
In a new twist to the adaptation process, the company would be working on a new development of which very few details are currently known. It seems to go by the name of Project Pegasus and its goal is none other than to bring the user interface offered by Windows 10X to traditional products that is, laptops and tablets or convertibles.
Project Pegasus would be based on the same Windows 10X experience but with the particularity that it could be adapted to traditional computer screens .In fact, it was Zac Bowden on Twitter who started a debate in which he found WalkingCat's response and in which he compared this possible new development with Windows 8.
In Zac Bowden's tweet we see an image of Windows 10X but being tested on traditional laptops and 2-in-1 computers or convertibles . A new Windows that would coexist with the existing one and that would seek to put an end to all the problems that Microsoft's operating system has historically suffered.
Project Pegasus or whatever name they finally give to a possible new operating system, would be destined for new devices that hit the market and not to replace Windows 10 on current computers.Microsoft has pinned high hopes on Windows 10X, a system it hopes will be widely accepted
