Build 18985 Hits the Fast Ring in the Insider Program with Bluetooth Improvements and Optional Upgrades

Yesterday we talked about optional updates and how they could return to Windows globally. Now they are once again the protagonists, at least within the Insider Program, thanks to Build 18985 that can be downloaded by all those who are part of the Fast Ring

Microsoft has released a new compilation, Build 18985, (inheritor of 18980), within the Insider Program. A build that comes to polish the 2020 release of Windows 10 in the 20H1 branchAnd to do so, it adds improvements and bug fixes, as well as new features, including the return of optional updates.

Bluetooth connection is improved

To facilitate the use of Bluetooth devices, they have added the possibility of doing it without having to go to the Settings application to finish the pairing. Everything is done from the notifications so that a faster pairing time is achieved.

Snip & Sketch Update

Improvements are coming to Snip & Sketch in the form of a single window mode so that the previous snip closes when clicking on New to Snip & Sketch.The accumulation of windows is eliminated by default, although it is still present if we go to the Snip & Sketch configuration.

Similarly zoom support has been added and you can now zoom in on screenshots if they are too small with the combination (CTRL + Plus, CTRL + Minus and Ctrl + Mouse Wheel.

Known Issues

• There is still an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games and after upgrading to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause computers to experience crashes. Most games have released patches to prevent computers from experiencing this issue. To minimize the chance of running into this problem, we need to make sure that we are running the latest version of the games before trying to update the operating system.
• Certain 2D apps (such as Feedback Hub, Microsoft Store, 3D Viewer) are incorrectly treated as protected content within Windows Mixed Reality. During video capture, these 2D applications block the recording of their content.

• "When capturing playback video while presenting an error via the Feedback Hub in Windows Mixed Reality, you will not be able to select Stop Video, due to the previously mentioned protected content issue. You will need to wait 5 minutes for the recording time to run out or close the Feedback Center window to end the recording and resume the file when you reopen the app in Feedback > Drafts."
• When viewing optional drivers in the new section of the Windows Update page, older drivers are listed as available for download, but the system does not allow them to be installed.
