Windows 10 May 2019 Update is causing display issues on some computers
Table of contents:
Windows 10 May 2019 Update has been with us for weeks now and except for specific cases it seems that with this update Microsoft has managed to bury the big problems and headaches that Windows 10 October 2018 Update had generated. Everything seems to be going smoothly in the last update… or almost.
"And a new problem has just appeared in the spring update for Windows 10. A bug that affects some computers that have decided to update and that affects Remote Desktop users with older display drivers."
The problem, as reported in Windows Latest, is that when they try to log on remotely from another computer they get a nice screen in black.
A bug from which Microsoft is already aware in the corresponding forums and which has provoked a response from Denis Gundarev, Administrator Microsoft Remote Desktop Programs and WVD Program Manager, confirming the problem:
The company is already working on a solution to the problem but in the meantime they advise users to update their display drivers or disable them in Device Manager."
Problems with colors
But it is not the only bug that is causing Windows 10 May 2019 Update and it is that apparently the spring update is distorting the Colors displayed on some screens due to driver compatibility issues .
The error appears to be caused when the operating system fails to accept the ICC profiles of some graphics, which causes color rendering failures on the screenA bug that has even led some screen manufacturers to recommend users not to install Windows 10 May 2019 Update until the bug is fixed.
As quoted in TechRadar although for now there is no official patch that corrects this error, it can be avoided by following these steps.
This is to access the Task Scheduler Library and the path Microsoft > Windows > WindowsColorSystem. Once inside, we look for the Triggers tab at the bottom>we mark as enabled the two options we see: When starting the session>."
