Microsoft wants to end the disastrous design of Windows 10 and prepares changes to the interface that make it friendlier
Table of contents:
At Microsoft they are preparing aesthetic changes in Windows 10. Changes in appearance to adapt to the current aesthetics and in other systems , in the case of macOS on desktop operating systems or iOS and Android on mobiles.
These are changes of which we now know more details thanks to Github, a platform on which it has been detailed what the aspect would be that it would have a new Windows 10 that would adopt a design in which the windows and menus would lose their angular endings.
And we cannot ignore a basic issue. Despite the fact that Windows 10 arrived almost four years ago and despite Microsoft's attempts to improve the interface of its operating system, the competition is still quite far away and to offer a unified experience.
The design in Windows 10 is far from being the most appropriate and updated to the needs of the user today
Fluent Design hasn't quite taken off and there are still many details of Metro/Modern, which is still in Windows 10. We can even run into elements such as File Explorer or Task Manager that still have the interface inherited from older Windows. We do not find a unified interface (we see it in the menus and applications, in buttons and icons) and that tires users and ends up reducing the usability of the system.
Rounded corners
Hint on Github provided by Sravya Vishnubhatla, Program Manager on Microsoft's Windows Fluent design team. He is the person in charge who asked the developers that future applications should have the new interface It is a matter of leaving aside completely sharp corners and that until now has been fundamental part of the whole design in Windows 10.
And now some screenshots have been leaked revealing what it would look like. In this Github link other examples of what the final result could be.
The objective is to adapt the design to the increasingly frequent use of web applications and mobile applications ensuring that for now, Windows, does not offers an adequate design when it comes to using this type of applications.
The new aspect would be the future of Windows An aspect that, as we see, is much more current and fresh, being the basis of both the future applications that come to Windows 10 as well as the operating system itself. It remains to be seen if users like the new look or prefer the design we have been using so far.
