Errors still present
As we can see, the list of corrections is extensive, but despite this there are still some errors that should be taken into account.
Issue 1 After installing this update, there may be problems using Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) to boot a device from a Windows Deployment Services (WDS) server configured to use the Variable Window Extension. This can cause the connection to the WDS server to terminate prematurely while the image is being downloaded. This issue does not affect clients or devices that do not use Variable Window Extension.
In this case, Microsoft recommends disabling the Variable Window Extension on the WDS server using one of the following options:
- Option 1: Open an administrator command prompt and type the following:
-
Option 2: Use the Windows Deployment Services user interface. Open Windows Deployment Services from Windows Administrative Tools. Expand Servers and right-click on a WDS server. Open its properties and uncheck the Enable Variable Window Extension checkbox on the TFTP tab.
-
Option 3: set the following registry value to 0:
Restart the WDSServer service after disabling Variable Window Extension.
"Problem 2 Certain operations, such as renaming , that you perform on files or folders that are on a cluster shared volume (CSV ) may fail with the error, STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL (0xC00000A5).This occurs when you perform the operation on a CSV owning node from a process that does not have administrator privileges. They offer these solutions:"
- Perform the operation from a process that has administrator privileges.
- Perform the operation from a node that does not have CSV ownership.
Issue 3 When you try to print from Microsoft Edge or other Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, you may receive the error Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80070007e. The alternative is to use another browser, such as Internet Explorer, to print the documents."
"Issue 4 After installing patch KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive error 0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND. "
- Uninstall and reinstall any newly added language packs. Please refer to this link for instructions.
- Select Check for updates and install the April 2019 cumulative update. For instructions, see this link. If reinstalling the language pack does not alleviate the problem, the PC needs to be restarted as follows:
- "Go to Settings application > Recovery."
- Select Get started on the Reset this PC recovery option.
- Select Keep my files .
Regarding these failures, Microsoft assures that they are working on a resolution and will provide an update in a future version. If you are still using Windows 10 October 2018 Update, you can download the update by going the usual path, ie Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update"
