A few days ago we talked about the possibility that Microsoft was considering to combine in a single group, the Quick and Skip Ahead rings when receiving new builds. A union that is already evident with the launch of a new compilation destined to test the 20H1 branch of Windows 10
This is Build 18875, which is available to Insider Program users. This is a compilation that comes to test new functions and given the rings for which it comes out, it is expected that it contains bugs and errors, so its installation on computers that are used as the main device is discouraged. These are the enhancements it offers.
Chinese and Japanese language improvements
"Improved language usage on the Japanese keyboard. In the 19H1 branch, Microsoft announced that they were working on a new Japanese IME and now they release it, more secure, more stable, with improved compatibility for the game and more, it is once again available to all Insiders starting with this version. For those of you who are already using the Japanese IME, you will automatically get the new one when you install this build. If you were not using the Japanese IME, you can download it by going to Language Settings and adding Japanese to the list."
- The Chinese keyboard has been improved and now has new versions of the Simplified Chinese IMEs (Pinyin and Wubi) as well as the Traditional Chinese IMEs (Bopomofo, ChangJie, and Quick).Microsoft has improved security and reliability by redesigning how they work with apps.
- "The interface has been improved, now cleaner. These enhancements are available in the Settings app. If you&39;re using one of the IMEs and want to check it, the quickest way is to right-click the IME mode indicator on the taskbar and select Settings (you can access it from the Language Settings page by clicking The Language , and enter options)."
Other general improvements
- Fixed an issue that could cause the lock screen to freeze if you interacted with the touch keyboard and then changed the keyboard layout.
- Fixed a bug that caused configurations to fail in recent builds.
- Fixed a bug that caused some Insiders to be prompted to set up their device after every reboot.
- "Fixed causing some text in Settings > System > Storage > Temporary Files to show crashes in Chinese and Japanese."
- Timeline has been optimized for keyboard-only users, so if you're doing a search and haven't opted-in, you no longer have to bypass the opt-in text before to access the search results. .
- Fixed a bug that could cause certain apps to flicker if maximized and launch the touch keyboard.
- Fixed where if the Photos tile was fixed on Start it could cause unexpected battery drain as the tile animation would trigger even if Start was not open.
Known Issues in this Build
- Failures continue to occur with older versions of anti-cheat software used with some games where, after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds, PCs may experience crashes. Microsoft is working with partners to update their software with a fix. To avoid this bug as much as possible, they recommend making sure you're running the latest version of your games before attempting to update your operating system.
- Microsoft is also working with game developers and anti _cheating_ systems to resolve similar issues that may arise with 20H1 Insider Preview builds, and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.
- Some Re altek SD card readers are not working properly. Microsoft is investigating the issue.
- Creative X-Fi sound cards are not working properly. Creative has released updated drivers for some affected X-Fi sound cards. Check the Creative website for details on your particular hardware and available upgrades.
Known Issues for Developers
If you install builds from the Fast Ring and switch to the Slow Ring or Release Preview, optional content such as enabling developer mode will fail. You will need to stay on the fast ring to add/install/enable optional content. This is because optional content will only be installed on builds that are approved for specific rings. Windows 10 Insiders in the Fast Ring and Skip Ahead can download the build by checking for updates in Settings.
Also notify you of a last-minute failure. We have received feedback from some Insiders that they are seeing a download error 0xca00a000 for build 18875. Microsoft is investigating this and asks those affected to upvote the https://aka.ms/AA4qqb2 feedback item if they have experienced this. issue.
