Perhaps at some point you have had a lapse and you have not remembered the password to access your PC, but what about when that moment drags on and you realize that you have Forgot password? At first you have no possibility (at least easy) to access your PC, something that can be reversed by following these steps.
The test is performed on a Windows 7 computer and allows the user to access it to change the existing password and re-establish a new one. A series of not very complicated steps but that yes, you have to follow to the letter.Let's go there.
The first step is to access the Startup Repair option and for that we have to use a bit of brute force. We have to turn off the computer with the button or removing the power while it boots. The goal is to get the message Initiate Startup Repair at power-on"
It begins a process that lasts more or less depending on our team Thus, once when starting the option, a new screen appears showing the repair process. If during it a Restore the system message appears click on cancel and continue with the process"
Once finished, a window appears with two options: Send information about this problem or Do not send. We are left with the second one marked and click on See details of the problem."
A text document will appear in which we must scroll down to the end, in the privacy statement (the last line) and click Openwithin the menu on the top bar in the option File The objective is to access the File Exploreron our PC."
Once inside the File Explorer we must look for the path that takes us to the System32 folder. To do this, we enter the hard drive that houses the system files (it is always local and usually has the letters C or D) and in the same mark in the lower area Show all files Look for the folder Windows and inside it, System32"
Now comes the part of the process in which we must pay more attention. First we look for the file Utilman and rename it by pressing the right mouse button or trackpad. I used Utilman copy."
"Now we look for the file CMD, one of vital importance, since it allows us to access the Command Console. With CMD marked, now click on the right mouse button and use the copy option, then paste the file anywhere in the folder with the other name.I used CMD Copy"
"
We return to the original CMD file and repeat the first step, and rename it by clicking the right mouse button. We now use the name Utilman, which we previously removed."
"Our work on File Explorer is over. We exit the windows that we have open and restart the system so that it boots normally."
Changing password
"We return to the start window, which shows the screen that asks us for the password under the username. Since we don&39;t know it yet, what we do is we go down to the lower left area and press the Accessibility button."
"Opens the Command Console in Windows/System32 and in it we must write net user (without the quotes and respecting the spaces. The system informs us of the established users and the type (if they are system administrators)."
"We continue in Windows/System32 and again we must pull commands. We write again net user (without the quotes and respecting the spaces). After it, a space and our username (the one that appears on the home screen) and we must write it as it appears in the command console (with uppercase, lowercase, accents...).After the username, another space and type the password you want to use and press Enter. In my case I used for the test 1234"
"The command console will display the message The command has been completed correctly We then close the window and in the box to enter the password access we mark the one we have established, in my case, 1234. We will see how again we have access to our equipment without major problem."
"With the process almost finished, we only have one last step left. Within the File Explorer we must look for the path that takes us to the System32 folder. To do this, we enter the hard drive that houses the system files (it is always local and usually has the letters C or D) and in the same mark in the lower area Show all files We look for the folder Windows and inside it, System32 We must look for the file that we previously renamed as CMD Copy and rename it to CMD, so that we can continue using the Command Console and the command CMDusually."
By following these steps, we regain access to our computer establishing the password we want to use.
