Microsoft releases Build 18362 within the Slow Ring and for many it becomes the candidate to arrive as RTM of Windows 1903
Table of contents:
It is noticeable that the arrival of Windows 10 April 2019 is very close. The pace of updates in all rings does not stop and that is why it does not surprise us too much that Microsoft has launched an update almost by surprise new Build within the Slow Ring in the Insider Program
Specifically it is Build 18362, a compilation that comes looking to correct some errors that are still present and that have been corrected thanks to _feedback_ from users A launch that, as usual, has been publicized on social networks.
A Build about which one point needs to be clarified before continuing, an alert that was launched at the last minute. Apparently Microsoft has received reports regarding installation problems experienced by some users when installing this build, a failure that generates the associated error code of 0x80242016.
They warn that they are investigating the matter and ask affected users to _click_ on this link to access more information about it.
For the rest, Build 18362 arrives with a series of corrections that we will now review and that, given the proximity in time, for many it is a firm candidate to be the RTM (Released to Manufactured) version of Windows 10 in version 1903 or what is the same, Windows 10 April 2019 Update.
These are the improvements that are coming
- Fixed an issue where the Connect app would crash when launched for some Insiders.
- Fixed bug where automatic updates from the Microsoft Store would not automatically install on Builds starting with 18356.
Known Issues
- Use of the game BattlEye that uses anti-cheat software (anti cheating) may cause a bugcheck (GSOD).
- Creative X-Fi sound cards are not working properly. They are still working to fix the bug.
- Some Re altek SD card readers do not work properly. They are investigating the problem.
Known Issues for Developers
If any of the recently released builds are installed in the slow ring and then switched to the slow ring, optional content such as enabling developer mode will fail. The solution is to stay in the fast ring to add, install, or enable optional content. This is because optional content will only be installed on builds approved for specific rings.
If you belong to the Slow Ring within the Insider Program, you can download the update by going to the usual path, that is, Settings > Update and Security > Windows UpdateAn update that is focused above all on improving the performance of the operating system."
