Microsoft offers a temporary solution to those affected who cannot access local addresses from Edge
A week ago we saw Microsoft release two updates for Windows 10, one for the April 2018 Update and one for the October 2018 Update. Two Builds focused mainly on improving operating system performance One of them was the cumulative update that came under patch KB4480116 for Windows 10 version 1809.
And although it is true that it corrected problems, it is also true that it came causing others that should not have been present. This update prevented users from accessing local networks from some devices.A case that could occur if, for example, we want to access our router, at which time in which the browser could freeze A problem for which they offer a solution.
This is a temporary solution waiting for Microsoft to enable the update that corrects this problem next week. This is the method they recommend using to access a local address from Edge, such as our router (192.168.0.1):
-
"
- Within the Control Panel, enter Networks and Internet in the tab Security and mark the icon Sites Trusted." "
- Select the button Sites."
-
"
- Uncheck the box Server verification required" "
- In the Add this website to the zone field, we add the local IP address that is causing problems. "
-
"
- Click on the option Add." "
- We check the check box Server verification required."
- We close, press the OK button and restart Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft, have recognized that this is not an exclusive problem present in that patch, as it is also repeated in KB4480976 (April 2018 Update or version 1803), KB4480967 (version 1709 or Fall Creators Update), and KB4480959 (Windows 10 Creators Update or 1703).
If you have experienced this bug on your computer you can leave us your impressions in the comments to find out if the temporary solution offered by Microsoft corrects the problem problem in the absence of an official update.
