So you can postpone updates in Windows 10 and incidentally prevent it from restarting at the most inopportune moment
There are times when an update causes more crashes and malfunctions than is desirable. We saw, for example, how to correct errors with an application in Windows 10 and in the worst case how to restore our PC when it began to offer lower performance than normal.
But can't we avoid an automatic update? Unfortunately these are not avoidable, but we can schedule when we want them to be downloaded as well as when our computer is going to restart after installing an update. It is the lesser evil to at least prevent the changes made from being applied while we are carrying out the steps to avoid problems and incidentally prevent the computer from restarting at the least opportune moment.
First of all we must go to the Configuration section for which the ideal and fastest step is to _click_ on the gear wheel located in the lower left area of the screen."
Once inside we must look for the panel “Updates and security” and within it look for the tab that located on the left has the name of “Windows Update”.
When pressed we will see different options and among them a call Change active hours which, as its name indicates, allows you to change the hours in which that our team remains active for updates."
We will see a window called “Active hours“ and in it we can mark the time frame in which updates can be made. Once the start and end times are marked, we can save the changes.
We also have more options and that is that we can delay or pause system updates for a determined period of time. To do this we must select Advanced Options on the main page of Windows Update and select the number of days we want to delay the update."
"In the Choose boxes we can determine when updates are installed, by selecting the number of days we would like to defer a feature update or a quality update."
We can also determine if the updates are activated automatically or manually or pause them completely or if we give the team permission to use the data connection(at the risk that this entails on our bill) to download updates.
