The 19H1 branch of Windows 1o is in charge of shaping the next big Microsoft update and the American company is leaving brushstrokes of what we will be able to see in spring thanks to the release of successive updates on a regular basis for members of the Insider Program.

"

So today we deal with Build 18323, which has been released and which can be accessed by the usual method we form part of the Fast Ring in the Insider Program. You can download the Build by going to the usual route, that is, Configuration > Update and Security > Windows Update. If this is not the case, you can always sign up for the Windows Insider program in the corresponding option in the Update and Security section."

In Build 18323 we will see a large number of improvements but equally and as usual, there are also bugs and errors that should be taken into account.

Enhanced RAW Image Format Support

Days ago we saw how Microsoft enabled an extension in the Windows Store to view RAW images more easily. Now, Build 18323 allows for better support for the native RAW file format in Windows.

This allows previously unsupported RAW file image thumbnails, previews, and metadata to be viewed directly in File Explorer. Also now you can view RAW images at full resolution, in apps like Photos or any other Windows app that uses the Windows Imaging Component framework to decode RAW images .

However there are still a number of problems with the RAW format that we must be aware of:

  • Some RAW image formats do not provide access to EXIF/XMP metadata.
  • File Browser crashes when view state is changed to ?Details Pane? and a RAW file is selected which activates the new RAW codec pack.
  • There are problems opening some RAW images in the Photos app with the new RAW codec pack.

Light theme is improved

In its day we saw how you could activate the dark theme in Windows, but lovers of light backgrounds will also have a place in Windows 10 . We already saw how they prepared a clear theme that now receives improvements:

  • Fixed an issue where the text in the battery dropdown could become unreadable in a light theme due to being white.
  • Fixed a bug where the scroll bar in the grid flyout was no longer visible in the light theme.
  • Now autoplay icon in system tray if visible in light theme.
  • Fixed a bug affecting the network and volume icons in the notification area where, after switching to light theme, they would not update from white to black until the browser was restarted.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented all supported application icons on the taskbar from changing color on the taskbar when switching between light and dark theme.
  • Made some tweaks to fix issues where using light theme white icons in notifications made them unreadable.
  • Updated the Settings icon to now be dark gray on the taskbar when light theme is enabled instead of black.
