Yesterday we saw how rumors appeared regarding the relaunch of Windows 10 October 2018 Update by Microsoft. Some rumors were later confirmed when the American company reported that they were resuming the process that they stopped at the time.

And with the return to activity they have taken the opportunity to release two new compilations belonging to the latest version of Windows 10 released to the public but also for Windows 10 April 2018 Update. This is Build 17763.107, which arrives as patch KB4464455 and Build 17134.407 corresponding to patch KB4467702. Let's go over all the enhancements it offers.

  • Fixed a bug regarding user policies, which were not applied after configuring user rights in group policy settings.
  • Fixed a bug that causes Internet Explorer to lose performance when using roaming profiles or not using the Microsoft compatibility list.
  • Fixed bugs with time zone information.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a black screen to appear after turning on the display.
  • Fixed a bug that causes a delay in taking a photo using the camera app in certain lighting conditions.
  • Fixed a performance issue with vSwitch on NICs that do not support Large Send Offload (LSO) and Checksum Offload (OSC).
  • Fixed a bug that can cause applications to lose IPv4 connectivity when IPv6 is not bound.
  • Fixes an issue that can corrupt connectivity in guest VMs on the application server when os flags are injected
  • This Build fixes the problem with compressed files in the Slow and Release preview rings

Known Issues

  • After installing this update, some users are unable to set some Win32 programs as the default for certain combinations of applications and file types using the Open with ? Settings > Applications > default applications
  • In some cases, Notepad or other Microsoft Win32 programs cannot be set as the default.

In parallel, another update has been released for Windows 10 April 2018 Update, the most recent version of Windows to date, under the Build 17134.407. These are the improvements it brings:

  • Provides protections against an additional subclass of the speculative execution side channel vulnerability known as Speculative Store Bypass (CVE-2018-3639) for AMD-based PCs.
