Concentration Assistant in Windows 10
Table of contents:
One of the novelties that arrived with Windows 10 April 2018 Update was the so-called Windows 10 Focus Assistant. A way to improve our productivityor simply to ensure that our moments of leisure are free from the most inopportune interruptions."
"Those annoying notifications that pop up when you least expect them distracting your attention from that movie you&39;re watching or the project you&39;re working on . The Windows 10 Focus Assistant, a function that many users are not aware of, wants to end them. That is why we are going to explain how to configure it correctly."
The goal is to avoid pop-up notifications, those that spoil any moment, especially if you run applications in full screen. Thanks to the so-called Concentration Assistant, we can establish rules so as not to receive notifications at the least opportune moments. These will continue to arrive, but to see them we will have to go to the activity center and thus avoid pop-up windows.
"Windows 10 Concentration Assistant can prevent all notifications for a certain time or permanently or if we prefer, only those related to certain applications."
Configure Concentration Assistant
"To configure the Concentration Assistant we will access the menu Settings and once inside we look for the section System."
We will see an area on the left where we must look for an option called Concentration Assistant. We _click_ on it and we will see a new section that offers three possible configurations:"
- Off: Focus Assist is off by default. We will see all notifications from all applications, both popup and in the Action Center.
- Priority only: We will only see notifications from applications that we define as priority. The others will appear in the Activity Center.
- Alarms only: All notifications are disabled. We will have to see them through the Activity Center
If we want to allow only certain applications, in the Only priority section, we will use the option Customize priority list. Here we can establish the applications from which we want to receive notifications."
Priority only
Within it and once marked we will have various options:
- Cortana: if we have a mobile with Cortana we can mark this option so that the notifications arrive directly to the _smartphone_.
- Chosen application: we can mark Add an application to add the applications that have priority and that these are the only ones that show notifications.
- Contacts: we can add contacts so that we receive all notifications related to them.
We also have and under the three sections initially seen (Deactivated, Priority and Alarms only), we have the option Automatic rules.
By means of it we can mark the hours in which the Concentration Assistant is active or even configure it so that it activates automatically when duplicating the screen, when opening a game or when detecting a certain direction that we have previously added.
