It is less and less until the arrival of autumn and therefore to see how Microsoft launches the great Windows update, which we already know by the name of 2018 October Update. And little by little from Microsoft they are finalizing the details of the launch with new cumulative updates for their computers
And in this case they have just released a new series of cumulative updates aimed at Windows users on PC for all those who have Windows 10 and have installed some of the versions 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703 and 1709.
If you have Windows 10 in any of these versions you can check if you have the update available by going to the path Settings (the cogwheel bottom left) and then in the pop-up menu entering the window Updates and Security and in the section Windows UpdateAn update process from which Microsoft gives us a series of warnings:"
- This update may request additional hard drive space to proceed with the installation. In this case, a message will appear on the screen asking you to free up disk space. We must use the option ?Solve Problems? to free up space
- To save space, this update can compress files in the user profile directory and thus install important updates. When files or folders are compressed, they appear as having two blue arrows superimposed on the icon. Depending on your File Explorer settings, you may see icons that look larger or smaller. The following screenshot shows an example of these icons.
- During the process you can request that the PC stay on longer to allow the installation of updates.
- This installation will not modify your user created sleep settings and also your ?active hours?.
- This update may attempt to reset network settings if problems are detected.
- This update will delete and clean registry keys that may be preventing updates from installing correctly.
- This update may repair disabled or damaged Windows operating system components that may hinder update performance.
- This update may reset the Windows Update database to fix problems that might prevent updates from installing correctly by clearing the Windows update history.
