Microsoft is working on optimizing the way we update our teams for the Spring Creators Update face
We are very close (less than a month) to see how a new update from Microsoft reaches our computers with Windows 10, the first major update of the year that we already know almost officially how Windows 10 Spring Creators Update.
The first of the two big _updates_ to which we have been accustomed by the American company for a long time. Two major updates punctuated the rest of the year by small (and not so small) updates that arrive via Build and cumulative updates.A large update that arrives almost every six months and that takes a good amount of time to be applied, a trend that could change in the coming months, however.
And no, it wouldn't change the way the two big updates were released, but rather the way users would have to apply them. The reason is that from Microsoft seek to simplify the process and for this they have announced a series of relevant changes that will make it easier for users to update their equipment when the moment.
To this end, the Microsoft development team has altered the update installation processes in such a way that they have managed to reduce the average time needed for the processand reduce it from 82 minutes to just 30 minutes. In this way, the last major update, Fall Creators Update, would have seen the time required to be installed reduced by 68%.
The processes carried out are modified and are now integrated into the online phase of the updateThe announcement was made by Joseph Conway, Senior Program Manager of the Windows Fundamentals team, and is based on the modification made by the development team achieving make of the phase online installation the fundamental part of it.
It is during the download process of the new version of Windows 10, the moment in which the current system configuration and user data will be copied to a temporary folder on the one hand where the version being downloaded will also be stored.
This lightens the installation process by removing weight from the online phase making backup and storage of the new version that we are downloading is parallel. Due to these changes, the online phase for the feature update will take longer to complete. However, this should not be noticeable to most users, as the setup processes run with low priority.
