Problems with your computer? So you can restore Windows 10 to an initial state without losing your personal data
Table of contents:
There are times when returning to a zero starting point is the only possible solution when dealing with IT equipment. It can be an option to solve a problem, if for example we want to sell a device or if we simply want to recover the agility of movements that we had on the first day."
On a computer with Windows 10 it is possible thanks to the option that allows you to restore it and leave it as new, almost as if we had bought it and we just premiered it at home.A process that the system carries out almost automatically but that we have to promote and here we are going to see how to do it.
The advantage of resetting Windows 10 is that although all the applications we have installed will be deleted, we can determine which one keeps all our files and settingsof Windows. Therefore, it is convenient before reviewing the applications that we have installed in case there is one that we have to monitor or from which to collect some data.
Starting the process
"The first step takes us to Windows Settings within the Start Menufor which we go to the lower left area of the screen looking for the cogwheel."
Within the new window we locate a box with the name Update and security, in which we must _click_ to access the functions that interest us."
Once inside we will see a list in the area on the left and in it we choose the option Recovery. It is the section that gives us access to the options that start the process."
On the left side of the window we will see a button with the title Start that we must and here an important question is presented, because the system asks us if we want to keep personal files. If we are going to sell or give away the equipment, it is your thing to delete them, but for other cases, keeping those files is usually the most appropriate."
So that we don't have any doubts and in case we have been confused, the assistant now indicates all the applications that are going to be eliminated, Both those that we have installed from the Microsoft Store and those from external sources. At this point, having a previous list of all installed applications can be helpful when making them available again.
"At this point you only have to click on the Reset button and the system notifies us that the process is going to start and once it is finished the computer will now have a restored version of Windows clean of applications (and, where appropriate, data) that may cause a problem."
The process will take more or less depending on our team and while it is being carried out it will make it unusable for anything. We will have to wait until after a series of steps the Windows start screen appears again, now virgin.
