The change happens by accessing the Settings within the Start Menuand once inside look for the section Applications."
Within it and on the left, we must choose Default applications and we will see first of all how it shows us the main system utilities, many of them of which they may have an alternative with another application that we have installed."
If we click on these we will see how a menu in the form of a list offers us alternatives to access them.
But let&39;s go to what interests us and by lowering the cursor a little we will navigate to the lower area looking for the option Choose default applications by file type ."
A new window then opens that shows us the different types of files that we can find on our computer and we see how by default each one of them is associated with a utility.
Click on the one we want to see how a title appears with the legend Choose an application."
The new window that opens before us shows us a series of file types compatible with said utility. Within them we choose and mark the type of file that we want to open with that specific application If, for example, we have a .mkv type file and we want to open it with VLC we will use this app and we will mark the .mkv type so that it is opened by default with Videolan."
From then on, every time we go to open the type of file that we have marked, Windows will search among the preferences that we have established to ignore those defined by default and will open the document with the application we have marked.
