Windows 10 S Mode may be Microsoft's alternative to satisfy dissatisfied users with Windows 10 S
One of the most surprising developments of 2017 was the announcement and launch of Windows 10 S. Microsoft may have seen it as the ideal tool for greater control and better security for computers used in certain environments such as education, but there are many voices that have not finished looking favorably on this proposal.
And the fact is that there are too many limitations that Windows 10 S offers, so many that it may not be worth the security that it is supposed to offer for a large majority of potential users.A limitation among which stands out the impossibility of using applications that do not come from the Microsoft Store, that's nothing. A handicap that could have made Redmond look for a third way that will please everyone.
Windows 10 S came hand in hand with a new team, the Surface Laptop and as soon as it arrived, many saw more disadvantages than advantages in this solution. Being limited to installing applications only and exclusively from the Microsoft Store was the most significant And although the idea was good in origin, perhaps the way was not so good to put it into practice, something they may have thought about in Redmond.
First, because although it was standard on the Surface Laptop, if the user was not convinced, they could switch to a standard version of Windows 10, so the door was left open. And now because according to 40% of users who started with Windows 10 S have ended up making the leap to the full version of Windows 10.
A figure that could be significant for Microsoft to doubt the advisability of Windows 10 S and its possible replacement by a more affordable alternative friendly to potential stakeholders. Apparently the possibility would be a new function that with the name S Mode (S Mode, we assume that for sure) would reach the versions of Windows 10 Home, Pro and Companies."
This S Mode is intended to offer users the possibility of choosing between a more secure version (and maybe limited)or a complete version It is a rumor for now, so until we have some official confirmation nothing can be confirmed."
"As we say this is not confirmed, so there is not much information to offer and many doubts. We&39;ll see if in the next Builds that are launched in the Insider program we can see any indication of this S Mode."
