Table of contents:
One of the benefits that Microsoft offers Windows users is the ability to try new versions of Windows before anyone else A chance that we can have thanks to the Windows Insider Program so that we can download the different Builds that are released almost weekly from Microsoft.
"But Do you know how to sign up and belong to the Insider Program? In this article we are going to tell you how to do it, what steps you should follow if You want to be an insider and thus test the development versions of Windows 10 before anyone else."
To participate in the Windows Insider program, we must first access the website, click on Start and register using our Microsoft email account. At this point it is necessary to note that we must have Windows 10 Fall Anniversary Update and if we have not updated it yet, proceed with the update before continuing.
Using Windows 10 options
"Now we continue the process with the options of Settings. To do this we only have to go to the menu Start and access the section Settings. "
Once inside we must look for the section Updates and security and then look for the menu on the corresponding side with Windows Insider Program."
We enter it and in the intermediate part we will see an access called Start on which we must click to see a new configuration window . It warns us that we are about to install a preliminary version of the operating system."
We _click_ on Next and we follow the steps that they offer us At the end and when completing the process, Windows 10 will point us automatically to the Release Preview ring, although we can change the configuration to choose to integrate into the Fast Ring or the Slow Ring Depending on which one we choose, we will have more or less polished compilations. We can test the new features before anyone else but with the consequent risk of suffering more _bugs_ and failures that have not been corrected."
There are three levels to choose from to receive Windows 10 PC updates away from the mainstream:
- Fast ring (fast ring) Intended for Insiders who want to receive the latest updates and features before anyone else and identify errors, send your suggestions to Microsoft, at the risk of finding more errors.
- Slow ring For Insiders who want access to updates before they are released to the general public, but They don't want as many risks as the previous ones.
- Release Preview For those who want to have access to the latest news, Microsoft applications, drivers and others, with minimal risk to your devices, as it is the version prior to the final release.
Once these steps have been followed in 24 hours we should receive the first update with the latest build that has been released within the ring in which we have signed up. To be able to update we must go to the Windows Update section as if it were a conventional update
"If we get tired of belonging to the Insider Program we can also jump ship and go back to being normal Windows users. We can carry out this process in the same Configuration window from which we have signed up."
