Redstone 4 is on the march: Here are some of the improvements coming with the spring update

There is still time ahead, but the pages of the calendar go by quickly and before we know it it will be spring. A marked time to see how the first major update of Windows 10 arrives for this 2018. An update that we now know as Windows 10 Redstone 4.

For now we are seeing brushstrokes here and there. News resulting from the development to which it is being subjected and that some users immersed in the Insider Program can already tryWe will see new functions and features arrive. And although there is time left, it is not a bad thing to review some of the improvements and new features that we will see in Redstone 4.

Cortana

• Cortana now lets you create lists that sync across devices.
• Proactive content from Cortana will now appear in Action Center.
• Cortana now notifies us about the place where we stop using an application to resume activity.
• Cortana now features a new interface on Notebooks.
• The Cortana hamburger menu now allows you to view the user's profile picture.

General changes and improvements

• Fluent Design has smoothed out the effects of the user interface, so the Start menu now includes several new effects as well as a more updated design.
• "The Start menu now has Fluent Design reveal effects on Tiles and in the app list."
• "We can change the color of the text delete all, expand, minimize and see more in the Action Center."
• "You can now use a two-finger swipe gesture to close all notifications in Action Center."
• Ability to use a custom lock screen.
• Add Fluent Design effects to the calendar on the taskbar.
• Contacts linked to the taskbar are now displayed in a list.
• The taskbar now features the acrylic blur effect.
• The notifications we see in the Action Center now have Fluent Design effects.
• The settings section for narrator, magnifying glass, high contrast and more has been redesigned and everything has been grouped in one place for easy access.
• "The text clear all in the Action Center has been changed to clear all notifications."
• Now, in Redstone 4 a new panel is added to the configuration that allows us to control which universal apps start with Windows, in addition to being able to see details about all the tasks that are executed with the system when it starts .
• ear Share is now present in the Share UI and allows you to share content between nearby devices.
• By right-clicking on an animated Tile, we can access Application Settings.
• The task view now includes a timeline. This is the Windows Timeline functionality.
• The location for accessing virtual desktops has been changed.
• Fluent Design effects will be disabled when using battery saver mode.
• My People Hub now uses new effects.
• You can now change the position of contacts pinned to the taskbar.

Microsoft Edge improvements

• You can mute the audio of a tab.
• Edge now has the ability to save free EPUB books.
• Edge now improves with auto-completion.
• Edge UI now has an improved UI.
• Updated user interface for use with EPUB and PDF files.
• Edge now supports Service Workers.

Settings panel changes

• Reveal and Acrylic blur effects have been added.
• You can now set Start Menu apps in Settings.
• Categories have been reorganized.
• Settings now allows you to set sound parameters.
• Users can now limit download bandwidth for foreground updates.
• You can now manage what data is stored in Timeline.
• You can calibrate the screen brightness when using Software Defined Radio when using a monitor with HDR support.
• Windows Update will now notify us in the system tray when an update is pending.
• We can customize the number of contacts that can be linked to the taskbar with a maximum of 10.
• Users can now recover local accounts from the lock screen.
• Settings now has more Control Panel items.
• Settings provides a section for keyboards.
• We can download language packs from the Microsoft Store.
