So you can install and add more fonts or text fonts in Windows 10 for PC
Table of contents:
A while ago we talked about Windows fonts and their new location in the Settings section, but at this point maybe not all users know how install new text fonts on their computers."
For this reason and given that it is a complicated process, we thought it would be interesting to learn about it, especially because of the possibilities it opens up, so we have prepared a short tutorialto teach how to install typefaces or fonts in Windows in case you don't know how to do it.Grab a pen and paper, let's get started.
Searching for the font we want
The first step is to find the source that best suits our needs For this we are going to pull from the large number of pages that there is about it. In my case I always use two, such as Dafont or Letramania, but the number of options is much greater.
In these pages we are going to see how the catalog of options is very extensive. It is enough to search for the font we want by name (if we know it) or by doing a manual search by appearance. Once found we _click_ on the chosen one and download it
Quick Install
A file is downloaded to our computer that comes in compressed .zip format and that must be decompressed or extracted to be able to access the files with the .ttf extension, which are the ones we are interested in. Also, we can find several .ttf files inside a downloaded font.
The simplest process consists of double _click_ on the downloaded .ttf file and in the window that opens click on the button to Install so that it becomes part of the sources that are in our team. It is the simplest process, but not the only one, as there is another more traditional one."
Installing by hand
"We unzip them and place them in an accessible place while we open a new window on the PC with Windows Explorer. We then access the address bar by deleting the address of the current folder and write %windir%\fonts (without quotes) It is the fastest process to access the path where you are the fonts located in C:\Windows\Fonts."
Using the Control Panel
"Another option is to do it through the Control Panel for which we access it using the search box in the lower left area .We look for Control Panel and once inside, using the searches on the top right again, we type sources…"
"We then see three options and of them we must choose View installed fonts in order to see how a new window opens."
We have already opened the fonts folder and now we only have to drag or cut and paste (to suit the consumer)fonts with extension .ttf that we have previously downloaded and unzipped.
"We will see a message that says Installing fonts and once finished in a few seconds, we will see how these fonts are integrated into the existing list and in this way we can use this source in any program that we have installed."
