- WZor (@WZorNET) November 7, 2017This is a Build that has brought, to users who dare to install it, important improvements in terms of improving accessibility , the expected aesthetic improvements and more effective control of the functions that our team develops at all times. Now we are going to remember the improvements that come with this compilation, which are the same ones that we had seen a few days ago:
-
Change in the configuration area: with these improvements our team seeks to improve accessibility and be easier to use so that best suits our needs. For this purpose, the related configurations that help to interact with our team have been grouped.
-
Optimizing startup tasks: the advanced options menu in Settings is updated> Applications > Applications and now we can see the universal apps (UWP) that are configured to start with Windows.
Other improvements that we will see in our PC
- Fluent Design has seen how the lighting effect has been softened when pressing thanks to the feedback generated by the users. In addition, Reveal has been enabled by default in the calendar view with applications that use the preview SDK.
- The bug that caused us to connect to a computer running this compilation via remote desktop, in some cases and with certain GPU configurations, when logging in to the PC locally we will only see the cursor with black screen.
- Fixed a bug that caused an error when displaying comments in the latest Build.
- Fixed an issue when using the Japanese touch keyboard that caused UNC paths to not be recognized when typing.
- It has also improved typing speed with the Japanese IME in the address bar or in the Internet Explorer search box. Fixed an issue where using an application in mini mode would cause the taskbar to appear on top of a remote desktop session.
- Removed the bug that caused us to not be able to scroll properly with the cursor when in tablet mode on small devices.
- Fixed an issue with mouse scrolling.
- Fixed an issue where right-clicking on a pinned to start folder in File Explorer would show the ?Pin to start? option.
- Fixed issue where password was prompted twice when trying to log on to Windows using a virtual machine with enhanced session mode.
- Fixed bug where toggling some games between DX9 / DX10 / DX11 and full screen windows rendered them black.
- Fixed HAL INITIALIZATION FAILED error when upgrading to previous build.
- Fixed crash with restore points set where some users may have experienced a volsnap.sys green screen error at startup.
- Fixed an issue that caused Microsoft Edge to take too long to launch when tapping some links.
- Fixed a problem with the Courier New font.
- Improved the Yu Gothic Bold font.
Persistent problems
- There may be problems with the Mail, Cortana, Narrator apps. Likewise, if you are missing some features such as Windows Media Player, you should visit the support forum
- If you dismiss Action Center notifications with a swipe, the Action Center may not work. You can delete the notifications in the corresponding button or _click_ with the mouse to remove a specific one.
- Screen flickering when using shortcuts or touchpad to switch between virtual desktops.
- If we use the Win + G command to access the toolbar during gameplay, the mouse cursor may become unresponsive while the toolbar is active. Pressing Win + G will hide the bar and make the mouse work again.
- You may have missed the calendar notification icons to dismiss and to snooze in Notification Center.
Remember, however, that these types of updates are designed for those users who want to test the new features that will arrive with Redstone 4 and that its stability is not guaranteed, so if you install it on a computer it is recommended that it not be the main one you use on a day-to-day basis.
