Creators Update grows in deployment but is still far from dethroning Anniversary Update as the most used version
Table of contents:
Little by little the fleet of computers with Windows 10 is being updated. And it is that since April 11, the date on which Microsoft released the Creators Update, the last major update for its operating system, the number of computers that incorporated has been increasing, although, it must be said, slowly.
And the fact is that the recent problem generated by Wannacry Decryptor has revealed the importance of having a computer updated with the latest versions of the operating system An alert that, however, does not seem to have caught on with a good number of users who are reluctant to go through Windows Update to check the available downloads and patches.
And the fact is that the firm AdDuplex has prepared a study in which it can be seen how, despite having been on the market for more than a month, the distribution share of Creators Update is still small, whether on San PCs, tablets, mobile phones or Xbox One. Something logical on the other hand, given how little time it has been on the market.
A figure that remains at 18% of devices and that is still still far from the 75.4% of computers that have the Anniversary Update installedWhile and already far removed from the two opposite poles as is the original Windows 10, which is no longer supported, with 1.6% and Fall Creators Update (formerly Redstone 3) which is now available thanks to the Insider Program with 0.5%.
And in terms of the mobile equipment market we find ourselves with something completely opposite, since the Creators Update is the most widespread version with a presence of 55.9% of phones, thus surpassing the 34.4% of phones that have the Anniversary Update. And again already far behind Redstone 3 with 4.3% and Windows 10 Mobile 1511 with 5.4%.
Windows 7 is still far away
Good figures in general for Windows 10 but as we see in NetMarketshare they are still far from those offered by other classic versions such as Windows 7And it is that according to NetMarketshare, the 26.28% market share of Windows 10 with all its versions is still far from the 48.5% market share offered by Windows 7, although it helps it to easily exceed 6.96 of Windows 8.1 or 7.04% of Windows XP.
In the deployment of Creators Update, equipment updates will be more important than the sales of new devices, since the brands that work with Microsoft, such as ASUS, Dell, Lenovo, Acer... before the end of the year, once the Fall Creators Update is released, they will begin the commitment to the new version of Windows.
