Dynamic PC lock comes to latest Windows 10 Build with Windows Goodbye option
Computer equipment increasingly houses more sensitive information, which is why it is increasingly important to have elements to protect security from our computer, tablet or mobile device. In this sense, fingerprint sensors, iris scanners or other methods are more interesting alternatives but... you can always go a little further.
And that's what Redmond has done with Build 15002, which after being withdrawn from the market due to serious operating problems has once again been released for the fast ring within the Insider Program.A Build in which a new addition stands out such as the intelligent blocking of the computer, an option under the name Windows Goodbye
And it is that although Windows 10 already had Windows Hello, this option may still be somewhat scarce for some users who expected a something more dynamic proposal. The computer crashes when we're not around? This is what Windows Goodbye allows.
With this system the device starts to lock our session when it detects that we are not in front of the screen, an action aimed at offer greater security and is aimed at protecting sensitive information that computers can store, especially in companies and large work groups.
In this way, and in case you forget to lock the device manually, the system will be able to do it autonomously by means of that dynamic lock, an option that appears as a highlight within Login Options."
For now It is not known what method this system uses to determine our presence or absence near the equipment, but it is almost certain based on the use of the webcam and some body recognition system, who knows if similar to the one used in Kinect.
In addition it is not a method that blocks the equipment if we simply get up for example, to take a sheet of paper from another table and we are far from it, since this would cause it to constantly cause failures. It is more of a system that determines when the user is outside the range of action to determine the logout.
If you have already got Build 15002 you can check how Windows Goodbye works within the Windows 10 options and you can leave us your impressions about it in the comments.
