Updates phone list for updates to Windows 10 Mobile for Insiders
Table of contents:
If yesterday we had coffee with the news of the expected arrival of Windows 10 Mobile to a good series of devices, today the operating system is once again the protagonist, because those from Redmond have retouched and updated the list of terminals that will be part of the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview program.
And if Microsoft launched Windows 10 Mobile yesterday for devices with Windows Phone 8.1, this update was selective, since a good number of terminals that only have 512 MB of RAM memory or the Lumia's X20 range mostly has been left out of the process
If you have a model of this range (X20) you could only have Windows 10 Mobile if you are part of the Insider program, in which case your terminal will receive Build 10586 of the aforementioned version of Windows, but it will not receive any more updates.
And this is the list of devices that will continue to receive new Builds of Windows 10 Mobile Preview and that Microsoft has updated, remaining as follows:
- Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
- BLU Win HD W510U
- BLU Win HD LTE X150Q
- Lumia 430
- Lumia 435
- Lumia 532
- Lumia 535
- Lumia 540
- Lumia 550
- Lumia 635 (1GB)
- Lumia 636 (1GB)
- Lumia 638 (1GB)
- Lumia 640
- Lumia 640 XL
- Lumia 650
- Lumia 730
- Lumia 735
- Lumia 830
- Lumia 930
- Lumia 950
- Lumia 950 XL
- Lumia 1520
- MCJ Madosma Q501
- Xiaomi Mi4
The reasons behind this change
A smaller and more updated list that the owners of some of the removed phones have surely not liked at all and after which Microsoft has warned:
As can be seen, in the list no longer appear important terminals from the American manufacturer that did appear before, as is the case with the Lumia 920, 925, 1020 or 1320, so these are phones that are left to their own devices and will not receive any more Builds with Windows 10 Mobile.
The reason seems to be, or so they want to sell, that they don't have adequate _hardware or the Windows 10 Mobile does not function as expected, so a bad user experience is generated and in the face of such a fact it is best to leave them as they are. What do you think of this way of proceeding? Something logical or are we facing another case of planned obsolescence?_
