Microsoft will stop “hiding” details about Windows 10 updates

At a time when we have become accustomed to the constant updates of the new operating system from Redmond, and although its revamps have provided improvements and tried to alleviate errors in the versions that preceded them; the truth is that many users protested the lack of details about “what it had” and applied each patch, especially those that had been released after the November renewal for Windows 10 PC (KB3116908).

A complaint that, finally, has led Microsoft to create a specific page where those interested will have the possibility to consult the history of changes beyond the typical list of implementations that the tech giant usually provides.

A specific place

In this way, the site will function as a kind of history of updates and will list, specifically and individually, all the news and corrections that each new version brings. Of course, it seems that, a priori, it will not do it retroactively, but will start with the last one: the recently released Build 10586.104

“After hearing feedback about the disclosure level of Windows 10 updates, we've decided to implement a new system for communicating changes to the operating system”, said one of its spokespersons. “Today we launch the Windows 10 Update History site, a place that will provide the details that accompany each version and that will serve as a historical record”, he finished.

While the conventional client doesn't care much for these kinds of changes, this page will be an important resource for system administrators and advanced users.Focusing again on those that concern the (just released) cumulative version of February, these are:

  • Errors related to updates, authentication, and installation of the OS itself have been fixed.
  • Also, the caching problem of the links of pages visited in InPrivate mode has been alleviated.
  • The delay in the availability of songs added to Groove Music from the Windows 10 Mobile app and the delay allowing code to be executed remotely on the infected machine have also been resolved.
  • In addition, from now on we will have the possibility to simultaneously install apps from the store and updates with Windows Update.
  • Other improvements have to do with Windows Kernel security and Microsoft Edge.
