Tab Previews in Edge
Along with including new system icons, and a new messaging app, the build 10558 of Windows 10 that was leaked this weekend also comes with other new features that many users will find useful.
The most relevant of these, in my opinion, is the ability to install applications on external storage drives, which most likely includes SD and micro SD cards. This is important because today there are many small Windows tablets that have only 16 or 32 GB of internal space.
These devices usually give you the option to expand storage using external drives, such as the aforementioned SD cards, but of course, it's of little use add an additional 32 or 64 GB if we cannot use them for many things. So Windows 10 will now improve the experience on these devices by letting you use the extra space to install games and apps, so you won't be as constrained by the initial space .
Another interesting addition to build 10558 is tab previews in Microsoft Edge, a feature that appeared in early promotional videos for the browser (minute 0:49), but it is not yet available in the current version of Windows 10. Well, in build 10558 you can already use this feature, you just have to hover the mouse over the tabs, and immediately a thumbnail view of their content will appear.
Finally, we have improvements to the live tile context menus , which now better explain the different sizes available, and group the rest of the options to make navigation more intuitive.
Most likely, all of this news will be available to members of the Insider Program at the next public build that Microsoft releases under this program. Meanwhile, the rest of the users will have to wait until November, when a big update will be released for everyone that will surely include all these features.
