Windows 10 adds new keyboard options thanks to its latest updates
Microsoft has been releasing important updates to Windows 10 every few days for weeks after its release. Thus, the company seeks to iron out all the rough edges that have remained in the operating system after July 29.
Most of these updates have not offered any interface or functionality changes, but simply performance and stability improvements, along with to fix bugs that affect the user experience. However, the most recent updates (the latest of which was released today) add a handful of additional options to the virtual keyboard settings
We can find these new options in Configuration > Devices > Writing . Until before the updates here there were only 2 controls to activate or deactivate the automatic spelling correction, but now we find a dozen new options, with which it is possible to define the following parameters:
- Turn word suggestions on or off when typing on the virtual keyboard
- Set whether to add a space after accepting a suggestion
- Turn adding a period on double-pressing the space bar on or off
- Turn key sounds on or off when using the virtual keyboard
- Turn automatic capitalization on or off when you start typing a sentence
- Enable Caps Lock by double-pressing the Shift key
- Allow or not to use the standard keyboard layout on the touch keyboard
Automatically show the touch keyboard in desktop applications when we go to write and there is no other keyboard available.
It should be noted that the actual functions described by these options were already available before. The only thing that is new is the possibility of deactivating or activating them, according to our preference.
