How to customize the Windows 10 Start menu by pinning frequently used folders and web pages
As we have already mentioned on other occasions, one of the main advantages of Windows 10 compared to Windows 7 is its greater customization options, at least in regards to to the Start menu The incorporation of live tiles in the menu gives us the freedom to pin all kinds of elements to it that we want to access frequently.
"And among the elements that we can add are the web pages and file folders To pin a web page, simply open Microsoft Edge, enter the page you want to pin, then press the three-dot button ( …) in the upper right corner, and click the Pin to Start option."
Meanwhile, to pin file folders we have two options. The simplest is to pin the folders using live tiles , for this you just have to look for the folder inside the Explorer of Windows, then right click on it and press the Pin to Start button, as shown in the screenshot below (the created live tile will appear in the lower left corner of the Start menu)."
The other option works only with the most important folders (documents, music, downloads, etc) but instead allows us to give you a a more leading role for the directories that we want to anchor.
"To pin folders this way we must go to Settings > Personalization > Start and then click on the link Choose which folders you want to appear on Start."
There will be a list of 10 important folders that can be displayed in the left column of the Start menu (the one that shows programs buttons, the shutdown button, etc.) To anchor any of them, just press the corresponding slider in the configuration window.
When pinning these folders, the result will look something like this:
