One of Microsoft&39;s achievements with Windows 10 and the program Insider is to have built a community of enthusiastic users around the operating system. And one of the icons of this community is the famous Ninja Cat Unicorn, an image of a ninja cat with a flag of various Microsoft products, riding on a fire-breathing unicorn (inspired by the image Welcome to the Internet, by Jason Heuser )."

This image was first used internally at Microsoft as a laptop sticker, but became a meme after garnering the attention of several at events like this year's Mobile World Congress (can be purchased online at sites like this).

Since then, its popularity has only increased, to the point that this week Microsoft officially announced a set of fundraising screen, designed for the Insider community, and featuring the famous cat with the Redmond flag, but adding 2 cute characters: a tyrannosaurus with grill tongs , and a narwhal with bits of bacon on its horn (because why not).

And in line with the multi-device vocation of Windows 10, Microsoft is offering these backgrounds in resolutions suitable for PCs, tablets, phones, and even for the Microsoft Band. These are the download links (ZIP format).

  • PCs and tablets: 3840×2160, 2160×1440, 1920×1080, 1600×900, 1366×768, 1280×1024, 1280×800, 1024×768

  • Mobile: 1440×2560, 720×1280 or 480×854

  • Microsoft Band: 310x102

Microsoft even offers a kit with the ninja cat images with transparent background, so that anyone can create new images with these characters, and inviting us to share them on Twitter with the hashtag ninjacat. Here are some of the more creative mash-ups:

There is also an official Windows 10 twibbon

"

And taking advantage of all this public interest in Windows 10, Microsoft has also wanted to complement the system&39;s promotional campaign in a slightly more serious way>official twibbon with which we can tell the world that we are ready for Windows 10, adding the logo of the operating system in our profile picture"

The twibbon works both on Twitter and Facebook, and even on LinkedIn, and can be added from this address, allowing us to see how the image will look before using it, and choose whether or not to publish a promotional message of the twibbon in our social networks.

And even a smiley for Skype!

And since all of the above is clearly not enough, the Ninja Cat has even managed to sneak into Skype, in the form of a emoticon. To use it we simply have to type (windows10), (win10), (ninjacat), (windows) or (trex), and an animated image of the cat riding the tyrannosaurus with pincers will appear.

What do you think of this way of welcoming Windows 10? Have you seen any other good images of the Ninja Cat that are worth to share?
