In Xataka Windows we have already commented on several occasions about Microsoft Remote Desktop, a Redmond tool that is available for various mobile platforms, including Windows Phone, and that allows us to remotely access the content and interface of desktop PCs.

In a recent update, Remote Desktop added support for the Azure Remote App service, which makes it possible to use Windows desktop apps on other devices , through the Azure platform (applications run remotely on Windows Server, and are accessed through internet-connected devices, linked to an Azure subscription).

Now, with a new update, Microsoft has just made this feature even easier to use for Windows Phone users by allow pinning such desktop apps to the start screen, so you can get to them faster, with fewer intermediate steps.

Another novelty in this version is the updating in the background of the list of available applications, which together with the integration with the notification center allows us to receive an alert every time the Remote App service administrator changes the list of applications available from our device, or sends us an invitation with new permissions to use other functions.

The team behind Remote Desktop informs us that they are still working to support Remote Desktop Gateway and Desktop Connections servers within the application for Windows Phone, so we should see those features in some future update that is released in early 2015.
