Windows Store updates its interface so you can easily find apps
A few days ago there was a update of the Windows Store interface with the aim of making it easier for the user to find applications. This is a set of changes based on feedback that Microsoft has collected.
In this way, and thanks to innovations such as the persistent top bar, they have managed to provide the store with a more comfortable and unified interfacewhen finding what we are really looking for.
Without a doubt, the most obvious change is said top bar, from which we can easily navigate through different lists of applications, categories or collections.
In the main section of the new Windows Store we can see featured applications, main free ones, or the latest news. Thanks to the new way of organizing and presenting applications in said section, accessing any of them will be very easy regardless of whether we use a touch device or mouse and keyboard .
Another novelty is the appearance of the application collections. Basically, these are lists of applications grouped according to their use or category, through which we can find applications that are useful to us.
Finally, we also know that Microsoft has given the ability for developers to publish a same application for Windows and Windows Phone, can link them so that users only have to buy it once.
This way, for example, you'll pay just once for Halo: Spartan Assault for Windows 8 and you'll be able to download its version for Windows Phone for free. Without a doubt, this is something that we have been waiting for a long time to avoid having to pay twice for the same application, as had to be done until now.
To identify linked applications, all you have to do is look for this icon on its tab, although this does not only mean that the payment for the application is made only once. Consider the funding model for games like Jetpack Joyride.
What happens if I download a game on my Windows Phone and make a payment within it, for some advantage or currency? Will it be available on your version of Windows? Well yes, as long as the apps are linked, as this also means that will share all the purchases you make in the app
To be able to update your Windows Store you will need to have Windows 8.1 installed, and the system will take care of the rest. If you still have the old interface, you can download the update via Windows Update.
