More Windows 8.1 Update 1 leaks show some changes to the interface
The leaks around Windows 8.1 Update 1 keep coming, and this time they pertain to a near-final version of the update that the network appeared today and to which the people of The Verge have had access.
The first thing Tom Warren noticed after installing this Update 1 is that if you have a computer without any touch input on the screen the operating system will boot by default on the classic desktop, something that we had already seen in previous leaks but that is being confirmed today.
It has also been possible to confirm the integration of a shutdown button that will appear on the home screen for PCs that do not have a screen tactile, and it will also be accompanied by a search button that will appear regardless of the hardware where we have the operating system installed.
"Hence, changes have appeared in the interface of the Metro applications because on computers that have a keyboard and mouse, each application will appear a bar at the top with options to minimize, close or snap On touch devices the bar would only appear if we superimposed the cursor on the top of the application."
We can now display the taskbar in Metro applications and on the home screen"
"Another important change is the option to show Metro applications in the taskbar, they tell us that if we activate it we can go to these applications from the classic desktop, and also allows the same taskbar to appear when we have a Windows 8 application open if we hover the cursor at the bottom of the screen. You can even show the bar on the home screen."
All these changes are focused on regardless of the hardware you have, you can handle the operating system more fluently, not only limiting the experience from Windows 8 to computers with a touch screen. Although we also note the results that Microsoft is getting by trying to a hybridization between the classic desktop and the Modern UI interface."
What do you think of the changes?
