The Start menu might return with the next version of Windows 8
The classic Windows Start menu may not be as dead as we thought. At least if we listen to the latest rumors collected by Paul Thurrott. According to them, there is a possibility that the next version of the operating system, supposedly hidden under the code name Threshold, will include a revamped version of the Start menu of all life."
The news is an extension of other information published hours before by Mary Jo Foley on ZDNet. In it, the journalist discusses the possibility that Redmond is considering presenting the new version of Windows in three different flavorsTwo of them consumer-oriented, one more modern and close to the Windows RT concept, focused on new applications; and another with a more classic style to address the PC market, keeping the desktop and its traditional applications. The third would also be like the latter but intended for the business market.
To this data, Thurrott adds other information provided by his own sources about the new version of Windows, supposedly called Threshold.
