More Windows Blue features: Automatic updates
With the build leaked this weekend some of the new features that will include Windows Blue, we are already talking about Internet Explorer 11, more tile customization and the possible inclusion of a file manager for the Modern UI.
But some more features have been revealed in the course of the early hours of today, such as automatic updates of installed applications, the possibility of configuring the notification schedule, and a greater autonomy compatible with a specific hardware.
Automatic updates of installed applications will be a configurable option in Windows Blue, knowing that enabling this option will run more background processes but on the other hand, they will facilitate the task of entering the Windows Store by simply pressing update every time a notice appears on the respective tile.
The quiet time is not a great novelty, but it is interesting to know that we can configure the time at which we want to receive or not receive notificationsOf our applications, this option, as WPCentral makes it known, would be much more useful to see it integrated into Windows Phone, something that can happen knowing that Blue will also reach the mobile operating system.
And the last but not least important novelty that would come with Windows Blue will be greater autonomy for the devices, here we have to clarify that The folks at Cnet, who bring us the report, say that only Intel Haswell hardware will benefit from this OS feature.
These devices running Windows Blue with Intel Haswell hardware will have the ability to always be on being available at the touch of a button , an idea similar to what we see today in all mobile phones and tablets based on ARM processors.
We know these aren't all that impressive, but it's nice that the folks at Microsoft are thinking about fulfilling many of the whims we hoped to see in Windows 8 but never did.
