One of the most powerful and at the same time most unknown applications of Windows 10 is Terminal. An application that is not very well known by conventional users, but nevertheless it is very useful for many system administrators, technicians and especially developers.

And in the context of Build 2021, Microsoft has announced news regarding Windows Terminal thanks to a new version of Vista preview that features a new Quake mode that makes it easy to access from anywhere in Windows with the press of a key.

The command console is a basic utility in Windows and therefore in Windows 10. A tool that allows you to have tabs open with different types of terminalthat go from a Powershell to a DOS console.

And now Windows Terminal comes to preview with a new mode that, under the name of Quake, allows you to open a new command console window from anywherewithin Windows thanks to a keyboard shortcut.

Windows Terminal reaches version 1.9 and along with Quake mode it also includes a full settings page that allows the user to choose the background, change the default command line tool or modify other user interface options.

In addition, Windows Terminal can be set as the default terminal emulator for Windows. This means that all command line applications can be started via the Windows Terminal application instead of the classic Command Prompt or PowerShell.
