Microsoft Teams is now more accessible: live voice transcription and download of all text in a Word file arrives

With the latest version of Teams, participants will be able to access the ability to transcribe the video they are watching on the screen, something that remarkably facilitates access to the hearing impaired app A feature coming to Teams in apps for Windows and macOS.

With the transcription feature, users can view a live transcript of what the person participating is currently speaking in a video call or meeting in real time. The text appears next to the meeting video and includes the name of the speaker and a timestamp to specify who is speaking.

The live transcription feature is enabled for hosts, presenters, and attendees and makes it easy to follow the conversation during remote meetings. Additionally, to take full advantage of the capability, all transcribed text can be downloaded as a Word file, although the meeting host also has the ability to delete the transcript.

In order to take advantage of the transcription capabilities, participants must use the desktop version of Teams (you can download it at this link), as it does not work in the web version of the application. Additionally, live transcription is currently limited to English-speaking users with the default English language in Teams.
