Microsoft Teams will receive an "Offline" mode to work even if we don't have Internet and improve RAM and CPU consumption
Table of contents:
One of the Microsoft applications that has gained the most strength as a result of the current pandemic situation we are experiencing is Teams. The tool of the American company that seeks to help us optimize teamwork, whether in professional or educational environments
"A tool that we have already seen how it has been reinforced with functions and improvements in recent months and that now receives an update aimed at improving and optimizing its operation, especially on devices with less powerful hardware in which the consumption of RAM and CPU seems fundamental.Improvements that will also be accompanied with a new Offline mode"
"Consumption and Offline mode improvements"
Some users have complained that when using Microsoft Teams on low-end Windows-based devices they have noticed excessive RAM and CPU consumption , perhaps due to the fact that the app is not optimized for less powerful computers.
Microsoft has echoed the complaints and has stated that it is working on performance improvements, although no details were provided. And it is that apparently, Teams is not optimized for depending on what hardware and for example does not work as well as it should on computers that use a mechanical hard drive instead an SSD type.
Some users refer to consumption of up to 2 GB of RAM memory, problems that are repeated both on Windows-based computers and on others that use macOS. A problem that on computers with low memory makes the application almost unusable.
A problem that the company is already working on, and that is not the only novelty of Teams, which is preparing to receive a new feature that will allow users to to be able to stay connected even if they don't have an active Internet connection
"Offline mode, which is the new name, will start rolling out in the next few weeksv and is designed for Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients. While it works offline, when Teams notices you&39;re back online, it will automatically send any messages left in the queue, a wait that lasts up to 24 hours."
Currently, messages are not delivered or queued when the computer does not have an active Internet connection.
