The company has announced the arrival of a new Chrome update that seeks to improve user privacy at times when they are sharing the screen.And the measure couldn't be simpler, because what it does is hide the content displayed in pop-up notifications.
No annoying and prying notifications please
"To prevent a personal notification from appearing on the scene and being seen by more users when we share a screen, Google adds to Chrome the ability to hide this type of notification. According to Google, this measure seeks to reduce distractions and prevent sensitive or personal information from being accidentally displayed while screen sharing."
Notices that may contain confidential information, such as Google chat pop-up notifications, notifications of received emails as well as notifications of different web pages that can sneak into the broadcast.A feature now available for sharing tabs in Google Meet.
"Notifications can be muted by hovering over a notification and selecting the mute option, but in addition, users can say when to show notifications by selecting show content. This way muted notifications will only show when you&39;re no longer sharing your screen."
The new feature is available to Google Workspace users with Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus accounts starting today. In addition, it will also be accessible to G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education and Nonprofits customers, as well as those users with a personal Google account
