Table of contents:
With the constant updates that Microsoft releases for all its applications. we received bug fixes and performance improvements, but also news, some of them highly anticipated. This is the case of Edge, which debuts in the Canary and Dev versions a function highly demanded by users
The latest version of Microsoft Edge that is already available for download on two of its test channels receives a feature already present in the old version of Edge. This is the possibility of having the interface used by the previous version of Edge, in which the user can choose what to do with the downloads carried out with the Navigator.
Classic interface in the new Edge
"With the renewed interface we will have the classic options with us again. The download menu now offers the options Open, Save As, Save andCancel, just like in classic Edge. A function that is not activated by default, so now we are going to see the steps to access activation."
"Once inside Edge, we must access the section Downloads, either by writing the route in the address bar edge://settings//downloads or by clicking on the three dots in the upper right area. Look for the section Downloads and click on it."
Once inside, we will see an access with three points to the right of the section All filesWe must click on it to access the Download settings and activate the tab with the text Always ask me if I want to save a file or open it without saving"
We just have to slide the tab so that later, when downloading a file from Edge, we have access to the new interface.
From that point, when downloading an element in Edge, we will see how the new menu appears in the lower area of the browser, as in the Legacy version of Edge.
This enhancement is available for Chromium-based Edge in Canary and Dev versions, waiting for future updates to reach the stable version by Edge.
