Microsoft continues to add improvements to its Edge browser, now that it can be downloaded on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, and not just Windows 10 computers. And while in this case This is the version available on the Canary Channel, these enhancements will be coming soon to the global version.

Microsoft Edge reaches version 85.0.555.0 and comes with new features such as the integration of Pinterest in Collections or the possibility of making searches with Bing on a text that we have selected and do it in a bar located on the right side of the screen

Without having to open tabs

Edge Canary version 85.0.555.0 is now available for download with an exciting enhancement that allows users to select text on a web page to then search that content in a sidebar that is displayed on the right of the screen.

"

Just select the text you want to search for on a web page and click on it with the right mouse button or the trackpad. We will see several options and of all of them we are left with the one with the text Search in the sidebar… or Search in Bing in Sidebar for…"

We will see how a panel on the right opens and shows the results corresponding to our search. At the bottom of the results we will see how the system offers the option of opening the search in a new tab.

A feature that was already present in Edge Legacy and is now returning to Edge to avoid having to use tabs as a requirement. For now only text search is supported and images are not supported.

In addition, the search sidebar is also present in Edge within the Dev Channel, indicating that this is a feature which won't take too long to reach the public version.

Remember that you can already try this version by downloading the new Edge Canary at this link. You can try any of the channels on the platforms where it is available. If you already have it installed, just go to preferences within the browser and check if you have any pending updates.
