This is how you can enable PDF documents to be read aloud in Edge after the last update

Yesterday we saw how Microsoft has already planned the retirement of Edge Legacy and the first step is its replacement by the new Chromium-based Edgethanks to the deployment of the latest Build that they have released for all those who are part of the Windows 10 Insider Program.

The truth is that although the new Edge offers many advantages, it does have some musts in its specification sheet that Microsoft is working to contribute little by little through the different updates New functions or actions previously present in Edge Legacy that come to the new Edge and one of them affects PDF documents.

Steps to follow

With the latest version of Edge available for download from the Canary Channel, users can now enjoy read aloud support . Just download Edge build number 84.0.512.0 on Canary and use the flag system.

To activate the reading aloud of PDF documents we must enter the address edge://flags once we open Edge and search for the line edge-read-aloud-pdf. To save time, the most interesting thing is to use the search engine in the upper zone."

Once located activate the box in Enabled (it is deactivated by default) and restart the browser for the changes to take effect. "

From that moment it is enough to search for any page that contains a PDF and the BOE is an ideal tool to supply ourselves with this type of documents, while it is the first page that came to mind.

From that moment on, Edge begins to read aloud the entire document that we have on the screen. A useful tool that makes navigation more accessible to all users.
